More Utah...

Sunday we went to Park City and The Canyons Resort. It was stunning. Here's some pics..

At the Canyons Resort we stopped for a look around and a Gondola Ride. Everything was so different from the last time I was there. I remember the days of no Condos and 1 Chairlift, fields of wild grass and night concerts. Some of my greatest memories from High School were spent at The Canyons when it was called Park West. I can't even recall all of the concerts I saw there, too many to remember, some were even life changing. The Canyons was beautiful but it has grown so much it has lost the quaintness that I remember.

We took the Gondola ride to the top of the Mountain, it was so fun and the air was refreshing. Inside the Gondola was a map and information about the activities one can do on the Mountain. My favorite was the Low Impact Recreation section, right up my ally.

Pictures from the Gondola Ride..

Once we got to the end of the Gondola ride we opted to take the Chair lift to the peak.

While riding the Chairlift I noticed this random bench I thought it was so funny that there was a random bench on a ski hill.

Toward the top of the chairlift I started noticing no one was riding the chair down and I thought how are we going to get down this mountain. As we walked off the chair I asked the operator how do we go down and he said "in the small print it says you have to hike" gasp.. We were all laughing at ourselves because we looked so silly hiking down the mountain in Flip Flops. So much for our Low Impact Recreation. The longer we walked I knew what that random bench was for.

The hike down did get me a chance to walk through Aspen Groves and pick Wild Flowers that I later dried out and gave to Taylor.

As we were leaving I drove down some back roads I found these funny ramshackle apartments. I could not believe this apartment building. It was back behind an industrial park up a hill. It cracked me up because everything in Park City is so clean and perfect, it made me feel better to know Park City had a Ghetto and gave me hope that one day I too could live in Park City.

We had a great time in Park City.
