Number 1 Fan.......

Today was one of the funnest days I remember. Dave and I went to Tampa for The Buccaneers Lions NFL football game.
Before I tell you about the game let me tell you about my husband..
Dave loves football so much, some may say he is FANanatical....let me explain. We have the expensive cable so Dave can have NFL ticket (all the football games on Sunday) of which he DVR's and watches all week, we have Sirius radio in both of our cars so Dave can listen to NFL network, and we can have no plans (or expect Dave to join us at activities) on Monday or Thursday nights because those are football nights. Dave quit a job because they were going to make him work on Superbowl Sunday, oh and Ben's due date was Superbowl Sunday, when he was told the date he shook his head and said "that's not going to work". And, we have to stay home every Thanksgiving because every Thanksgiving there is a football game, that football game is of The Lions. Dave is The Lions #1 fan. He loves them.
It is hard to be a Lions fan. The Lions for years have not been good. I can tell you about all of the rants my husband has had because of poor management of The Lions. I can bore you with the list of players The Lions have lost because of "piss-poor" trades, but I won't. I will just tell you that Lions fans are know as "long suffering". But, not this year. This is our year, (Dave says that every year).
Sunday, The Lions were in Tampa Bay. Decked out in our Lions attire we set out for a day trip and hopes of a win. Dave got really great seats (11th row visitors section) and we had soooo much fun.
The seats were great. We could see everything and it was so much fun to be surrounded by Lions fans. I will admit that I am not a football fan, mostly I get annoyed at how much my husband is willing to invest in football, but today was one of the funnest days of my life. It was great to be so close to the field, the was thrilling to watch the players, it was fun to high five the surrounding Lions fans with every good play, it was hilarious to listen to the Bucs fan yell at us to "go home and build cars", that was his trash talk, "go home and build cars".

Here is the half time show, a para- shooter with the American Flag, because it was September 11th.
These guys were my favorite. There were about 10 of them, they were young guys who follow Detroit. They were so friendly and came and shook the hands of everyone around them. They also lead the chant of "nana nana hey hey goodbye" as the Bucs fans were leaving. Because you see...
WE WON!!!
Yep, The Lions won. And it wasn't because The Bucs played bad it was because The Lions played great. For example in the first half The Bucs didn't even have 100 yards. That is because of The Lions defense.
I will get behind Dave and agree this is our season.
