I didn't have time today to dig up an old picture, so I owe you one on the next post.
For some reason of all of the boys Dave was the one I would never forget. We would go a while without talking and then bump into each other somewhere random and talk like we never skipped a beat. After one of those times I followed him to his apartment and we talked about College and how he wanted to get enrolled. The next day he called and said he was all signed up and asked me to keep the 10 hour open because that was when we were going to meet up everyday. I was SOOO excited. Why? I was never one of those girls that had to have a boyfriend. Why was this guy making me so thrilled? Well, the day before the semester started Dave called and said he was moving to Bakersfield California to help his brother-in-law who got injured at work. Dave was moving there to work to support the family. I cried for 4 days. Bawling. Not just small tears down the cheek. Out of control sobs.
That should of been the first sign.
I have found homes for all but one of the kittens. Night is the only one left. I am proud of myself. It has been so fun to watch the faces of the people who have been picking out their kitten. The kids had gotten into it to, wanting to met all the people to make sure they were going to be okay. These kittens have definitely been time consuming but, I think I have taught my children a good lesson in caring for animals and Taylor who has always said she wants to be a Vet has really shown a deep responsibility during this time. Tomorrow I am taking the Mamma cat to get Spayed. My friend and I are doing it together. I figure this is the only way to stop this constant breeding of cats.
Taylor is almost done with 2nd grade. She is so big. I hate it. Ben is starting full time pre-school. He is so big. I hate it. When I started having kids I never thought about them growing up. What am I going to next year?? I am scared I will lose myself now that all of my kids are going to be in school. A huge phase of my life is over. I am almost the mother of two school aged children. Sometimes I think it is unfair that it is so easy for some teenagers to have a baby. What about of those mothers who keep having kids and they don't really even want them. I feel like I was robbed of being able to have more children. I wish I could give Dave more children. I wish I could have more children.

=( So many emotions in this post! Maybe it's because it's 4:00 in the morning, but you got me all emotional! =) I need to slow down and enjoy my kids more because this time is crazy and stressful, but I know I will never get it back.
I remember having those same feelings when Spencer went to school, and he and Mason were both gone for the day. I remember walking into my big, empty house, and only making it into the foyer. I turned around and went to a friend's house for the day. (Thank goodness for girlfriends!) I then signed up to sub at ONLY my kids' elementary, and also volunteered as room mom, secretary on the community council, and other PTA positions. I know you are already busy with the school. Don't worry too much- you'll stay connected and enjoy life in a new way- just as good- just different.
I also spent many years wishing we could have more babies.... 9 years later, Emma was born. Now we're back to that stage of life again.
You are amazing- I love to read your posts. I think you would be fun to hang out with if we lived in the same state/city!
