Trip Day 1......

Washington D.C.
The start of two week trip was spent in Washington D.C. The four of us went to every thing .
I know the kids don't know what they saw, mostly cause Dave and I kept saying "but your in___". So, the 21st was Dave's birthday, mostly he drove but we did get Washington D.C. in enough time that he was happy we got to spend his birthday there.
Dave is now 40! I feel like I should of had a surprise party or something for him, but, his birthday is so close to Christmas and all.
We went to the Lincoln Memorial first. It was bigger then I thought, you can go inside and The Gettysburg Address is written on one wall and the Inaugural Address which President Lincoln gave, is written on the other.
The Washington Monument

It was closed because of Earthquake damage, and has a Flag for each of the States, around it. The Reflecting Pool was closed for construction so we saw where it was but didn't get to see it.
We walked all the way down Independence Ave and ended at the WWII Memorial.
Dave got to choose dinner so we went to BTS (Bur
gers,Taps,Shakes) then we walked to our hotel.

editiors note: we parked our car at the hotel and walked everywhere.
