Day 2....

Washington D.C.

Our second day we spent in the Smithsonian. We went to Museum of America History and Museum of National History. The kids know the Smithsonian from Night at the Museum battle at the Smithsonian, so it was neat to see where the movie was filmed.

The Smithsonian is a bunch of buildings located on the same strip known as The Mall. All the museums are free so I could of stayed their all week but we didn't.

Our first stop was the American History Museum.

The original Muppets

Ruby Slippers worn by Judy Garland
All of the First Lady Dresses
 Mrs. Obama dress
She wore this dress during President Obama's Inauguration speech, the pictures does not do them justice.
I thought the dresses were really neat.
We also saw the original American Flag. There were no pictures allowed. We looked at it twice because we thought it was so neat. Did you know that Elizabeth Ross was paid 400.00 to make the flag, and that her daughter and a slave helped. She also moved to the bar across the street because the Flag was so big. The Flag was so large, I was surprised.

Museum of Natural History
Everything is real.
The dinosaur from Night at the Museum Battle of the Smithsonion

Can you see Ben??

The Hope Diamond
The blue stone is a diamond. Titanic is based on that stone.
A necklace from Napoleon given to his wife when she had her first baby.
What did your husband give you?
Ben wanted to go the Scout Monument.

The Florida Tree
The ornaments were made by students from Jacksonville, we didn't know that until we were there.

Can you see the White House?
There it is...
